Get Better Frame Rates on your Logiq e and Vivid e Ultrasound Machines
Good frame rates in cardiac are often a problem with portable ultrasound machines. Most don’t have the power to generate high frame rates with solid image quality.
So it’s no surprise that a common customer support issue involves getting better frame rates out of the GE Logiq e or GE Vivid e portable ultrasound machines. While these may combine as the top selling portable ultrasound machines, frame rates in cardiac imaging is not a strong point on these machines.
In working with a large number of customers, we’ve worked together to find an optimum solution for getting better cardiac frame rates. Each generally had their own preferences as to what parameters made the “best” image. However, in general they are satisfied with the overall price/performance they get out of the machine once this is set.
An important thing to note, as stated in the video, is that you’ll often trade image quality for higher frame rates. This is the same on any ultrasound machine. There are things you can do to help the frame rates in color Doppler without sacrificing much quality, and this is noted in the video.
The following tutorial walks you through the various steps and options for improving frame rates. Once you’re satisfied with your results, rest assured you won’t have to make these changes every time you scan. At the end of the video, I walk you through the steps of creating your own custom preset.
