GE Venue 40 video training: Part 1 of 8

Transcript to Getting Started with the GE Venue 40:
Hi and welcome to the GE Venue 40 training. Before we get started, I wanted to talk a little bit about the cart and how it operates. When you get the system, this won’t be connected. Let me show you how to connect the system and how to operate it from there.
You’ll see there’s a connection at the bottom. And obviously, the black part faces front. Make sure you have the stylus string in front of the system. You’ll place it in its holder in the cradle here. And you’ll push down here. Again, make sure the stylus string is not in this place.
There’s two little finger portions. And you’ll push down until it clicks. It does take some effort. But when it clicks, you have to make sure that this is set. It’s real easy to just push it down like this and leave it a little bit loose.
Make sure you don’t do that so it doesn’t loosen up and break the connection down here. Push down, you’ll hear it click, and it’s all set to go. You can move your stylus string to the back.
Transducer connection. The transducer will come disconnected, little cartridge like this. This pops out and it will be on top. Slide in the cartridge, push down, and you’re all set to go with the GE Venue 40.
On the other side, we have a number of connections for external peripherals. We have a DVI connection here for an external monitor, a USB connection, another USB, a mini USB connection, and then your ethernet network port. Now, this down here looks like a regular plug, but it is not. This is what would come with an external black and white printer that you can connect to the machine.
This is the power. So when you power up the entire thing, it also powers up that black and white printer. This tray can move up and down. You’ll slide it right off and move it to one of the three positions. You could put your needles or whatever right down in there, your gel.
And then moving back around. On the very top of the system, you have your connection for the SD card. You just pop it up with your fingernail. You can slide in and out. Just push up, push down on your SD card.
Place it in there and again put it right back onto the system. String in front, pushdown, it clicks. And you have your power button on top as well.
In addition, there’s a foot pedal down below. You push it down. Use these handles. Push down on the system. Release it. It stays down. And then if you want it up, just push down. It comes right up.
Note when it gets the top of this, you could still pull up a little bit and raise it just a little bit more. And then you can tilt the angle of the monitor very easily. Do not pull on this here to tilt the monitor. That is only for releasing it.
So you can just tilt with your hands like this. But if you want to release, that’s when you’re going to pull the lever below. And that’s the way around the cart for the GE Venue 40 ultrasound machine.
