Transcript to Chison Q5 Portable Ultrasound knobology video training: Getting Started Q5 Tips:
When we’re ready to begin imaging, we’re going to start over here. Here’s our patient information screen. I’m going to click on that, and it’s going to bring up where I would enter the patient information. The patient ID is automatically entered. The ID is done by year, date, month, day of the year, and the approximate time. You would enter a last name and first name, and whatever information you would like to add. I’m just going to add “test.” The rest of this is up to you as to what you enter. If you have any notes about the patient or the exam, you would enter here, as well as the type of exam that you’re going to do. When we’re ready, we click OK.
Also notice down here, we have New Study and New Patient. New Patient, if we currently have a patient active, we would click New Patient and that would bring up an entirely new patient ID and we can enter a new patient. New Study refers to that exact patient. If you are doing a second study on the day, you would do that here. Press New Study, and it will give you a new study, where you would select the study type and any notes you want here. Archive and Worklist. Worklist will show you the DICOM Worklist. Archive will allow you to search for a previous patient, when you pull this up. If that patient has already been there, you would click on Archive. And you can search here. There it is.
You can also search by patient ID, name, the study type, anything that’s done today, the last month, week, year, or all patients. You can even select a date range in which that patient was done. If you have it stored on multiple hard drives– this one is only stored on the local of D. But if I had exported some to a USB drive, that would show up there as well. So this is where you would find previous patients. You can click on them. Since this was done today, I could say Continue Examine or New Study. If this was done prior, it would show me a different way to go about it. Now back on this screen, when I’m ready to go since I already entered that patient information, I’m going to click OK. And we’ll start the exam. Across the top, we can see there’s the patient ID, the patient name, company or the hospital name, which probe is connected, your indices.
This is the exam, which we will show in just a minute, the time, the day of the date, various information about the exam that’s being done, the frequency of the probe, how many frames per second, your dynamic range, your persistence gain, and various items about what is going on the screen. Now to start exam, we’re going to select this probe icon. This is the main exam screen where you going to select the type of exam you’re going to do, the probe, and this is also where it would show any custom presets, such as down here. We’ll get to that in a later movie.
I’m going to choose Vascular and I want to choose Carotid. If I just click once, nothing will happen. You need to double click on Carotid or whichever exam you’re going to go into. And it will pull it up and be ready to go. So let’s go through some of these imaging controls. We have our hard keys down here, Depth, Focus, Doppler controls, which just steer PRF, Wall Filter. We have our TGCs over here. Our zoom box is actually up here. We’ll click on it. Then we push again, and it’s going to give us our Region of Interest.
I’ll put some gel on the probe to demonstrate. So our Zoom will allow us to choose a general area by clicking it down. We move the trackball, and it gives us our Region of Interest here. I’ll push it down again and that activates it. This here shows where in the image I’m zooming in to. I can move that zoom box with a trackball. And to deactivate Zoom, I’ll push it down again.
We also have our invert, up and down on this image. Invert will be for the Doppler. Left and right. Our dual screen, we’ll click for the first and get one active. Push it again and the next will become active. Back and forth allows you to switch between those. Push on the Single to go back to the full screen image. Same works for quad screen. Just going to click multiple times, and when you want to go back, go down here to the full screen
